Default Power consumption and ESC/Motor questions

Hey folks...

So, I've got a few questions. I have no clue whether these questions are completely lame so bear with me...

1) Power consumption: Overall, does a few turn engine 'suck more juice' than a high turn engine?

2) I've been looking at a new motor - either a 55t or preferably a 35t. I currently have a cheap 21t limit esc and a 3500 7.4V LiPo. Would this deliver enough power for the mentioned motors or do I need a special heavy duty ESC with higher turn limit (35t...)? If yes, why? Amp delivery/Voltage or... ?

Thanks! I'm just trying to understand the RC electronics a bit better.

1) Correct. A lower turn motor will draw more current than a higher turn motor.
2) Your current ESC should be fine (as long as it will handle 2S lipo and has a low voltage cutoff). Other ESCs have different advantages than cheaper ESCs (adjustable drag brake, programmable settings, etc.), but yours should be up to the task.

Superb. The ESC works fine with my LiPo and I just fitted a low voltage buzzer to keep my battery safe - worked out fine so far.

Thanks for clearing that up
