Default Anyone mod a tq3 2.4 yet

Looking to see if it's done the same way as the old One's

No, the newest TQ3 Link version will not mod the exact same way as the original TQ3. You can add a 3-position toggle to CH3, but not the trim pots. It will be 3 fixed postions. This may be enough for you if it fits your application. I haven't tried it, but I have seen it described a few times. I could find a link if you need. If you do the mod and want to adjust the postions, you would need to add one of my 3-True-Postion adapters as well.

does the new 2.4 tq3 use encoders?

No, it just has 3 pre-determined postions on CH3. This applies to the TQ4 as well. If you take a potentiometer and replaced the red thumb toggle, it would not be act analog. Instead it would only find 3 postions throughout the pot range. At least this is what I remember from a few months ago. So in the end, there is a path to get 2 3-position toggles on a TQ4 Link. I am not sure if the 4th channel is unlocked on a TQ3 (it may be).

i can get a new traxxas for 60 buck's and the dx3e for 100. thats why i was asking. trying to save some cash lol

it will work just fine for what you are trying to do. i run a tq3 with my comp truck and it works well
