Default tx battery questions

Hey guys, my radio eats through my AA's like its a giant juicy double western bacon cheeseburger...
I have a couple 1/18 6cell nimhs.
I do know i can mod the radio to fit them, but would voltage be a problem?
The aa's add up to 12v.

The nimhs are only 7.2v

Would anything happen if i use the nimhs?

This would be a cheaper solution than getting rechargable aa's

Btw, this is a flysky gt2, i dont wanna run lipo as i have no screen that shows voltage, and i dont feel safe running the lipos in it

Any ideas?

If you decide to try and use your 1/18th packsd, you will need to break them down such that you end up with individual 8 cells connected in series.

NiMH's are pretty cheap now, you can buy an 8 pack of AA-sized ones from Walmart for under $15 and they will have a higher capacity (mAH) and lower self-discharge characteristic than the cells in your 1/18th packs.
