Default Suggestions for a Timberwolf

I recently purchased a rc4wd timberwolf chassis with trex axles and r2 trans and i'm wondering what size motor to use. I was planning on running brushed, unless that's a bad idea, and i plan on running it in all conditions: mud, rocks, water. I was also cosidering a Tekin FXR-pro esc and a i have a Hi-tec 7955Tg, will it have enough torque to turn this beast. I've tried searching on 3 different forums now and still can't get a straight answer.

sounds like you've got a Great ESC and a strong enough servo

if you plan to stay brushed, i would check Holmeshobbies.com, or on here for a brood handwound

personally i would get one of holmes's new sensored brushless motors

I thought a brushed setup would be better in the wet conditions though?

I would suggest a HH sport if your running through water. Brushes will wear out faster in. I consider a handwound a waste in a scaler, unless you have money to burn.

Only brushless I know of is a VXL that is waterproof. I'd stay brushed.

Seems the majority of brushless motors are waterproof, ive had a few, including a castle 5700 fully submerged and it worked fine.

x2

I'm running that in my Poison Spyder Tuber, which is very similar to the timberwolf; running a HH Sports 45 T and a Tekin FX-R ESC, my servo is an Hitec 7955TG and it has more than enough tourque for all situations.

I run with Axial axles and and an Axial tranny, cause if had bad experience with the RC4WD Stuff. I've made all the axial stuff bullet-proof (Felsenfest knuckles, Felsenfest CVDs, HR alloy C's and in the rear a Felsenfest spool with Axial straight axles.

Looks like this
