Default Rooster Crawler ESC & Tamiya CR Tuned

Hi,

I got myself a new Novak Rooster Crawler ESC and plan to use it with a Tamiya 35T CR Tuned motor. Should I still install the provided motor capacitors by novak on the Tamiya motor even if it already has one built in?

Thanks guys.

In a 'almost similar' situation to this, I run a CR tuned motor as well and am JUST about to upgrade my esc.. wanting something waterproof, and WAS keen as on the HH torquemaster, but unfortunatly.. Out of stock.. :( So contemplating going a traxxas waterproof XL-5.. but after some more crawler based info. Things like suitability for crawling applications? the CR can is a 35T, and plan is to run 2C lipo for now, but would like to keep my options open for 3C later. (possible more later!) Will the ESC have any issues in doing this!? What is the 'brake like' in these units? Enough to hold a Honcho on a slope? Appreciate any info or suggestions as to other options of ESC. be it the CC sidewinder, Novak goat, etc.. thing is Im Not looking to spend a FORTUNE, hence looking at the traxxas speedys untill HH has more come into stock. Prefering options that are water proof, with decent drag brake, capable of 3C+ lipo, preferably with a built in BEC, although I DO have a CC BEC sitting here..

Much appreciated guys. look forward to making a purchase shortly

to actually be waterproof, have lipo cutoff, good bec, and drag brake theres only 1 option hh brxl waterproofed version. otherwise i would get a sidewinder and wire a ccbec in and waterproof yourself or put in a sealed box as a 35t wont put much stress on it
