so i just got a rooster crawler esc in a trade and trying to get it to work has turned out into being a real bitch...so heres my gear:
novak rooster crawler esc
traxxas receiver
integy motor
traxxas servo..
unknow battery..
Should i add a bec and be done with it or is there a possibility the esc is broke..i powers up good...it just doesnt turn the motor..everything else works great..any help would be great..(AND YES IVE TRIED SEARCHING!!!!!)

and when i play around with the steering it makes the motor twitch..it goes foward at full speed then stops and goes in reverse..
