| Ni-MH and Lipo cut off Question
My question is; is there any problem running my ESC (MSC-12L) in 2s Lipo mode and using Ni-MH batteries? Th reason I ask is I want to keep the voltage up for the steering servo. I guess I have two questions. a 6V. 5A. BEC will only supply 6V. as long as there is 6v. to give right? |

Depends on what voltage nimh you are running. If you are running 6 cell the lipo cutoff will cause your runtime to be shortened when using nimh. The BEC will supply 6v as long as the pack is above about 6.1v for linear regulators and 7.2v for switching regulators. |

I thought a linear BEC was less efficient, no? Can you tell me what type this is? http://store.rc4wd.com/High-Voltage-...BEC_p_470.html also can you tell when this will be in stock? http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...4&cat=2&page=1 | |

Linear is less efficient, but they can generally work with a smaller voltage drop because of the diode used in digital versions. The RC4WD one looks to be digital. I should have ESCs back in around 3 weeks, last I checked assembly. |
