| mamba micro pro on 4cells?
Has anyone tried the castle creations mama micro pro on 4 cells? I was thinking about one on an ax10 with a 35t.

On a 35T? Not sure I'd try it. 3S should be plenty for that motor.

Thanks your probably right. I was needing to get an esc and figured I would look for something small and had 4cell capability.

I would say go for it! A lot of guys over here in Oregon are running 4S on 45turns. You could just turn your epa's down a little if its too fast. And the extra lipo cell will actually make your low end smoother. TOM |

I don't think I would try it. I have 37t motors with dual mamba micros and 3s is plenty of power. However if you have extra money to blow give it a try; I'd be curious to see if they hold up. |

I ran some of my micro pros on 4 cell with 45T motors and 35t Motors. Handled them both fine, you could notice more temp when running the 35t though. Never drove it thermal or anything like that.

i smoked one of my mamba 25 on 35t and 3s, i am pretty sure it was the 25 amp older version, as i haven't had any problems on the newer ones and i would be weary of 4s on 35t motor, check the temps if you do.

I'm pretty sure nabil is running his sidewinder micros on 4s with no issues. A couple other guys too.

Hey all. I wanted to check on something. I know plenty are running mamba micros on 4s but the castle website suggests this is not within the specs of the system. I am not sure if that is the motor itself that is limited or the esc, but the owners manual also suggests 4s is acceptable in the setup guide. Will this system work ok on 4s is is 3s really the limit. I ask because I am in texas and the heat can get bad. |

the esc will work on 4s just like the original 1/10 sidewinder but the spec voltage limit is 3s. all the motors castle pairs with the micro pro would be to much on 4s but the lower kvs would likely take 4s fine

Angelo- I can't answer your question but I do know when I plug in my rig on 3s it chimes up and gets going just fine but on 4s it takes a while for the esc's to arm. Once they do arm life is good. I am going to give Castle a ring about it today.

For what it is worth here is the update from my conversation with Castle. The gentleman explained that the Mamba Micro is NOT designed to run on 4s and he was surprised it would even work at all. That being said he did say that the newer versions of the firmware had an over voltage protection mode that prohibits proper usage from time to time. He suggested going to an older version of the firmware and then also suggested maybe getting ride of the auto-lipo and setting the cutoff to custom and 12.8. I am not real sure how I feel about all this but the bottom line is this. Regardless of what you do to kill your esc, castle will replace it for 30 if it goes in fried. I am going to give it a shot! |
