Here is another cheap option.

Here is the cheap option I like. Soldering the 3 position switch into the TQ3 radio.

or you can buy a modded TQ3 here.

fm gives a stronger signal.sort of like the diff of the am-fm radio in your car.fm is clearer.to do the mod your self doesn't cost much, doing it may be the hard part.did that mod to my airtronics and going to do it to my xr3 as the a-switch for the 3rd channel is in a position i cannot operate it with out difeculty reaching it.they should've put it where the b-switch is at.the switch on the xr3 i have is a 3 way switch and doew work for rear wheel steer.my hands are large so if your hands-fingers are smaller i'd think the switch wouldn't be so bad to reach

Werks fine for alot of people. Fm is supposed to be better but 10 million TMaxx and EMaxx owners havent complained much.

The Traxxas radio comes with a 2 position switch. When you replace it with a 3 position switch you need to use a center off switch, on/off/on.
They make 3 position switches that are center on, off/on/off. You cant use that kind.
Doing the mod is easy, just unsolder the wires from the stock switch and solder them to the new switch in the same order.
Some people dont like it because you dont get proportional rear steering with the TQ3 mod. You cant turn the rear just a little, you get full left, full right, and center. But it really is not a problem. IMO
