Default Extending battery wires

I recently picked up a new chassis that will require relocating my 3s lipo to the front axle, the battery leads are too short to reach my MMP ESC. Rather than solder new leads to either the lipo or esc, both of which would need to be opened up, can I make an extension using the proper gauge wire and deans at either end? I only need an extra 3" or so (don't we all ), would this cause any voltage issues?

Ive done this before, and instead of "extending" the wire, i just made a extension with deans connectors on both sides, it worked fine.
