| Need Help on Running Gear for TTC Rig
Well Jerry with DMG just sent out his most beautiful work ever. DmG/Wide Open Designs TTC build Now I need to figure out what to run for electronics. Rig needs to be built bullet proof and water proof. I was thinking HH BRXL (Waterproofed) with a 35T Pro Wound and CC BEC. Unfortunately John is sold out at the moment. Axles have been waterproofed, servo has been waterproofed TowerPro MG995 (200oz @ 6V), Axial tranny with Robinson steel gears, I have aluminum knuckles and C's so it's almost ready to rock and roll. Eddie with Crawler Innovations said he is using an outrunner BL system. I have no experience with those motors...should I just use a cheapo machine wound brushed with the HH BRXL? For those of yall running hardcore mud/water TTC rigs what do yall using for running gear? Last edited by alexchen86; 12-21-2010 at 05:56 PM. |

Def go with Johns ESC Outrunners can be fun but I would go with a nice 35t 4s in that rig would be fun! I would go with Holmes for motor and ESC. I know that there will be a pissing match over who's motor to get though so get ready Dont go cheap on your rig now! You have a super nice build going, finish it the same way |

| Now we're talking. This is just silly stupid powerful and fast and small. http://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalo...22/HK-2221-10/ And super silly bad ass, and close to smooth enough at slow speeds it's manageable for a little rock crawling action and will BLOW AWAY a 35 turn motor. Motor Kv 3000 RPM / Volt Max Continuous Current 42 Amps Max Continuous Power 550 Watts Weight 81 Grams (2.86 oz) Couple buddies ran them last year and they were off the charts hilarious and awesome. I think they ran MMP controllers, but a Sidewinder would be fine. Run 3S lipo. |
