Default What size batteries are you using?

For practice, and for comping. Not concerned about brand for this thread.

All mine are 2S due to the M2Dig's limitation (not a problem to me).

MaH wise, I run 600-1000 for comp, and up to 2000 for practice sometimes. Since you only need 10 minutes per course, there's no need for large capacities.

So, what is everyone using?

3s 1800mah 40c
May be alittle overkill but love the runtime, power, and wheelspeed they give my LCC MOA.

3S 850mah with the M2, no problems, Beetlejuice V4/Bully. Comp 2.2

3S 1300mah with the FX-R (AX-10) Sportsman no dig

2S 4000mah with a FX-R (SCX-10 scaler)

Most comps are only 5 minutes with no practice runs.

all my lipo's are 2s, they were originaly all for my AX10, but i'll be using some in my XR10 aswell.

2x 1600mah
2x 1250mah
4x 1300mah (2 have just been ordered) these will be the batterys I run in my XR10

comp/practice, same battery, I don't see an advantage with a smaller lipo in my setup. (may change once I start comping? lol)

Smaller battery = less space, less weight, easier placement.

Especially if you're using an XR10 which has very limited space for electronics and battery.

My bust. Now that I think of it, the only comp I ran was 5 minutes. Brain fart. I'm new to comping, and forgot what it was.

Why comp and practice with different size batteries? Kinda like going and practicing an F1 race with a Pinto. It's not that extreme I know but the weight will affect things.

I have 2 1050 3 cells
1 1100 3 cell
2 1350 3 cells

There is a weight difference between them but I do find myself using the 1050's more and more.

As for runtimes on course, at Ted's Garage, we run a minute a gate. Usually 8-9 gates and guys still time out. Before you go saying much on that though, look up video's of Ted's Garage from RC Sparks.

I use 2s 850mha for my mrc, which are solid for 3 courses. I use 3s 1100mha packs in my XR10, they are good for two courses, but found out the hard way that they are only good for half of the third.

1300 35c 3s for comps, or 1000mah 35c 4s.

For bashing and cruising around I use 2100mah packs when I need light and nimble, and 3200 3s or 5000mah 2s when I am out with a scaler for long periods of time without spares.
