| Rc4wd Outcry esc
Ok so I bought it used but according to the guy I bought it from he ran it for a couple of hours to make sure it worked. But when I turn on my Tx and then plug the battery into the esc as soon as I plug it in it starts running and I have no control over it not even when I hit the gas or brakes it won't speed up or slow down, and I've tried 3 different Tx and Rx I'm using regular AM Tx and Rx by the way, with Radioshack nimh batteries and a Dewalt {(it doesn't have capacitators on it though) is this the problem?}18 volt motor. Thanks for any help that is given. Last edited by THE CRAWLER KING; 01-09-2011 at 08:11 AM. |

Does the ESC have a "one push setup" on it to set the ESC to the TX? If so, did you do the setup?

The fan and servo will come on when you plug up the battery because of the BEC. However it should have a on/off switch that must be turned on before it will power the motors.

like j19bill said, when i plug my battery in the fan and servo are activated because of the bec, but the motors do not work until I cut my switch on. Works great like that

| Lipo or nimh it doesn't matter as it has no programming options. I had one and I would say it is defiantly because you don't have a bec that you are experiencing these problems. Your reciever is not getting power which is causing it to do uncontrollable things. Hope this helps |

Yours propably is not from RC4WD. Look at the HSP crawler thread under "General" You will see the same ESC there. One major difference is the RC4WD one has a additional component on the outside screwed on to the heat sink. Mine from Nanda looks simmilar, has a built in BEC but the switch wiring is a lot thinner than Outcry version.

| Re: Rc4wd Outcry esc Yes I just bought one, the brand new combo ESC and motor. It came with no instructions and like you said no set up button nothing. I installed it, it has an attached/enclosed 3 amp BEC, the fan came on and the servo worked fine, but it had NO reverse at all and forward and on and of, no modulation sometimes it would run and sometimes not, when it did it was on all the way and jerky, then nothing. It would try to run for a second, a noise and a quick surge, then nothing again. The ESC wires are also to short and the switch wires are to short. Trying to get info out of RC4wd was very frustrating. They wouldn't tell me anything, they did say send it back and they would send me a another one. I did Not want to waste anymore of my time, I think they are just junk. I bought mine new from Teamgonads on e bay. They told me they would refund my $109.00 but not the initial shipping and I had to pay the return shipping. I asked him before I bought if he had any problems with these ,but he told me no. They weren't to happy about the return, very short with me. Oh during the brief period when it did run off and on there was no drag brake either. I would recommend staying clear of these things, to anyone, like you I am angry at spending money on new equipment that does not work, very frustrating, waste time, money and still waiting to get my money back to find something that actually works. |
