Default DX3E dig switch for BEAU

so while free crawling at hobbytown concord beau shows up and gets on the rocks. later on i noticed it had rear dig. i thought it was cool bcus hes never used it due to the fact he only had a dx3.0 (2p only) for the longest time, and latey been kickin a55 with it.he now had a DX3E he ricked up from ricky, then i noticed the odd way he was having to hold his new controller. thumb on the rocker switch, throttling with his middle finger, pionter finger is along side of the radio...pointingand only gravity keeping the radio in his hand resting on hes ring and pinky. pretty bad right? that made me want to mod his 3E for him.

went to radio shack, picked up a couple momentary switches. about 15min with a knife and random on hand tools, the switches were mounted, walked to the shop, routed some wire and put her back together. all smiles as he holds his radio comfortably and controls hes berg with improved smothness. im glad hes happy. i originally wanted to do it to other ppls DX3E's but they wouldnt let me thanx again beau for letting me do this

heres a nice one with his daught her in the back

Could you tell me alittle more about this mod does it work the same as the toggle on the back? The switch position is the only thing I don't like about my dx3e. Thanks in advance.

That is so BA. I likethe fact they are just engaging dig when you press them. As soon as you release the dig is off. Amazing Yet simple.

Would appreciate it Chino

I am working on a friends truck and he just bought a dx3e also and I hate the location of the 3rd channel and this is exactly what i was looking for..I just don't want to tear into his new radio (although it has never stopped me before..LOL)

Also, do you happen to know the part #'s of the rat shack buttons you used?

Again great job!

Can you show us the wiring. How do you connect the two switches into the panel? Have you used the original points?
Please send us any pictures or details you have.
Thanks in advance!

Was just kinda getting used to the awkward position of the thumb switch on my DX3e. This mod will make it so much smoother to operate thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for giving me a way to fix a very uncomfortable switch position! I went a little deeper and put the buttons where a DX3R has the buttons. That is my future radio so why not get used to it. Thanks again for a fix!
