I use and a friend of mine uses turnigy in soft and hardcase. 2s and 3s. More then 6 lipos together with a ton o charges on them all. Did your buddy solder his own connection on? Does he know how to balance lipos? Was there a short? Maybe he should pursue a warranty claim since its only been charged 3 or 4 times it sounds new.

Heh, I went looking for a Turnegy that I bought from a store 6 months ago yesterday, to find it puffed... and I have not charged it yet. In fact, it still has the useless factory supplied plug on it. But then, others (Turnegy too,) I bought on the same shopping trip (and not used, either) are flat and fine. |

Pretty sure throwing it in a creek would void any and all warranties.......

Been running my Zippy/Turnigy/Flightmax/Rhino packs for years. But I did have two Turnigy 5000s that were bad.

I had many TurnIgy packs and had some issues with 1 or 2. There are cheap enough to not worry about them. They puff...oh well.

Any lipo can puff, smoke, and catch fire no matter the brand. I don't know about u but I would be more pissed if it was an exspensive lipo. Sooo let me get this straight, u threw a sac full of hazerdous chemicals in a creek. Way to go captain enviroment. Lol |

You never answered if he put his own ends on, knew how to balance, or maybe he was getting a non-waterproof lipo wet in the creek you mentioned a few times? Did he have a lipo cutoff? Kinda just sounds like a blind turnegy bash?

| Well darn thats $20 down the tube. Better than an expensive lipo like a couple others posted. Thanks for clarifying

Sounds like it was a just a bad one. Maybe had a broken connection on the balance board that shorted the pack after a bit of running. I've got a heap of turnigy lipos, a few have started to puff (but these have had heavy use) others i've got a fine, and had 2 that were doa (0v in a cell in both of them) Its just a luck-o-the-draw with turnigy...as the saying goes you get what you pay for. |
