Default Gens ace batteries

I am getting ready to order a new charger and a lipo battery which I have never owned yet. I am looking at the 2500 mah, 2s, 25c battery and the Thunder ac6 smart 5 in 1 charger. Is this a good choice or is there something better for the money? Thank you for your help.

Link to said batteries? Spec wise they sound good if they are rated properly.

http://www.hobbypartz.com/gens.html Here is the link for the batteries. I like the charger and I thought if the batteries were any good I would order them at the same time. If not I will order the batteries from some other place.

I say go for it. I can't comment on the quality of them as I have not used or tested them, but for the price you will likely have a decent battery that does the job well enough.

If you are wanting something with more of a track record and quality control behind it, you will have to pay more money.

AcePow is the company http://www.rc-battery.com/app/menu.php?op=index

But it is hard to know if they are actually the manufacturer, or just somebody that has ties to a factory. PLENTY of "manufacturers" from china are just rebranders that are independent agents of one or more factories. Somebody post some discharge graphs so we know if they are decent

Sounds like a job for Chris The Bat Man!

We need a spotlight with a picture of a battery we can point up to the sky and he can see that we need him to do some tests.

the airplane guys at rcgroups.com seem to think they are under rated. the 25c packs are on the performance level of the thunder power "pro power" 45c packs! i bought 2 of the 20c 3s 800mah packs for my berg and so far they seem good for the price. only time will tell!

I've got one of the gens ace batteries that they actually sent me to test before they started to sell in the US market. I have no affiliation with them at all. They had posted an ad on RCTech for lipo testers that I answered. To my surprise I received a pm saying they'd like me to try out one of the batteries. Sure enough, about 2 weeks later I had a free lipo from china. I even got to choose my battery size. They sent me a standard rc car sized hardcase battery that was 2s 4000mah 25c. I have to say that it has held up very well. I balance charge it and the cells charge to within .01v of each other every time. My battery has probably been charged about 35-50 times and still takes full mah and seems to have just as much punch as when I got it. I have no fancy tests to prove anything but my "seat of the pants" feel is that they are probably underrated. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I think they're a great buy at the price they sell them at. Hope that helps!

found this.... seems as good as the thunder powers

I'd like to see some graphs done by chris though, possibly his elite cells vs. gens ace.
