| ax10 with goat 2s 18.5T battery help!!!
I just recently purchased a goat crawler system this week and am wanting to go lipo instead of my nimh batteries that I was using on my old setup of motor and esc. My main concern is getting a long powerful run time and still being able to fit the battery on the axle. I'm getting about 25-30mins with my batteries now but have heard ppl talking about getting over and hour or two on some setups. I'm really needing help deciding what batteries to look at and what kinda power i'm going to be looking at as well. With my packs now I can pop a wheelie from a stand still and still have complete lower end control with no problems. I would like to have a small lipo that can do the same just with a better run time. I've done some looking around and can't seem to find a good definite on what to get. Any help is greatly appriciated. Thanks, ~Tyler~ |

I used to have that same combo in my AX-10, run the ESC with a 13.5 in my scaler now. Driving style has an effect but it took a 3300 mah pack for me to get over an hour, an 1800-1900 pack should net a good 30-45 minutes. Look for high C also, thats whats gonna keep that pop, many of the packs people use with brushed setups just wont work. I gave up on finding a pack with enough juice that would fit on the axle and not get ate by the tires though. These packs are your best shot, anything bigger will get ate by the tires, not the runtime you want, but you probably aren't gonna find a battery that will fit that will run that long. http://www.allerc.com/hyperion-g3-ex...ck-p-5443.html http://www.allerc.com/hyperion-g3-ex...ck-p-5445.html or http://www.allerc.com/thunder-power-...0c-p-4918.html I'd grab two or three of the Hyperion 1100's, there just a half a mm bigger than the 900's, both are barely bigger than the TP's. The TP's will fit great, but cost more and I've had kinda bad luck with them. Cheapbatterypacks Elite 1100's would be another good option to the Hyperion's, when my last TP loses a cell I'll probably go with them. Have fun, be ready to break lots of parts. |

Those batteries don't sound too bad. I am really looking for the run times also. That is my most important thought also right now because I don't want to have to tote around several packs just to have fun for an hour or two while I'm out. ~Tyler~ |

Yeah, I know what you want, you might have to mount somewhere other than the axle to get it though. I've used this pack with good results on the front when I wanted to play for a long time and wasn't comping. Width and length aren't to far off from the Hyperions, it's twice as thick and weighs four ounces though. Most batteries with higher Mah are just to long to fit on the front axle. Basically one of these packs cost the same as three of 1100's I linked before, with the same runtime as three of them. Size and runtime vs changing packs. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...rce=google_ext |

So that battery listed above is able to fit on the axle if I were to be using a bta kit or the axial servo and batter plate? ~Tyler~ |

It's thick but will work fine unless you have Super 300 axles, then the tires will start to rub at full lock. Here's a couple old crappy pics of a Losi 1650 pack thats the same width and length, just half as thick. A long skinny pack on the front upper links might work better, lots of cheap options then and C doesn't matter much when you get into 3000Mah and up.
