Bump. Just got the same thing... worked great before waterproofing (plastiDip) but now it only works every 3rd or 4th try, and tx has to be right on it. What SHOULDN'T be covered on this board?

I have one of those setups and don't have any reception issues. I removed my case and shoved it in some heat shrink from a hardware store. Then I used Zapp Goo on both ends and it's totally water proof. I've tested it manny times(not trying) more than I care to count. Try that.

there it is, he used heat shrink. I think the platidip can get a little to thick if you do a couple of layers. I would try the heat shrink, it sounds like it'll work. BTW: sometimes it takes a little while to get a response, might be a week, might be half an hour for a response. |

I have had some questions that were never answered. Okay, I just happened to come across this so I'll add what I have done. Might work for you, might not. But here goes.... On one build of mine, I have dilithium grease coating the electronics. this was then heat shrunk around the edges and I used hot glue to seal the edges. This way, I was able to still use my winch line controller until I had a controller with a EPA on the 3rd channel. If you don't need to get to the manual controller, you could also place it in a balloon, zip tie the end and put a little hot glue to seal the zip tied off end. That will keep the water out. This method is also used on ESC's and receivers as well. Just make sure if used on an ESC, It doesn't get too hot or it will compromise the ballon and it won't be "waterproof" anymore! |
