| Transmitter and Reciever ?'s
Hey this is my first post and have just been introduced to the crawler world this christmas when I got the axial sxc10 tr dingo. As of right now it is stock but the transmitter that came with it is pretty junky, no offense Axial, and would like to get a new one because i am ordering a bulldog 1/10th winch and want to be able to control it from the transmitter. If anyone has some good advice it would really be appreciated and i would not like to spend more than $120 on it...thanx

Hmmmm....$120? Are you going to comp (compete) or just have some fun? A Futaba 3PM-x would fir the bill for now & later. Yes, there are some cheaper 3 channel radios, but the 3PM-x is a decent choice. Any service required (I have had Futaba radios for ~30 years, never needed service...BTW, my 30+ year old Futaba Magnum Juniors are still in service for 12th & 10th pan cars.......) is here in the USA.....some "off brands" may be a PITA to deal with. Fill us in, I'm sure others will chime in. |

I looked the Futaba 3PM-x radio and the lowest price was $144 which is a little high but whatever, and I forgot to mention before that I would also like for the transmitter and the reciever to come together

| The WIRCRC (Wisconsin radio controlled rock crawlers) is based in the Appleton area, we do some competitions in Oshkosh at the Hobbytown. We also do some outdoor stuff during the summer. Look in the regional section under Wisconsin for more info or pm me. Chuck

| Most radios when bought new, come with, at least, a TX & a RX. |

The servo that comes with it is junk. alot of radio's come with servos, they are mostly meant for nitro rigs which need a servo for the throttle. |

Oh ok that makes sense and I think I will be ordering the Spektrum DX3E, it has a pretty cheap price tag to it and looks like it will fit the needs!! And do I need to do any programming to it or when I get it do I take my axial receiver out and put the new one in and it will work or what?

It'll just be neutral/full throttle programming. Nothing major.

+1 on the DX3E for its value. I have a Dx3E and a Dx3R. if you can find a used dX3R withen your budget get it, they are very nice.

| besides being plastic gears, the stock spektrum servos are pretty decent. Its something like .11 speed and near 100 oz. Still light for truck steering but would be fine in a smaller vehicle.
