| The 7950TH sure is strong!
Not a lot of tech here, but thought i would share how impressed i am with this steering servo on my LCC! Upgraded from the 645MG because i kept stripping the metal gears inside the servo. I'm running this new 7950 servo on 3s lipo and holy cow! I can wiggle the whole rig if the front is planted! So last night i had the front kind of in a bind, but didn't realize how much it was in a bind. Went to turn, and kept turning and SNAP! I thought, oh crap... looked and it sheared the bolt holding the drag link to the steering servo arm in half! I thought that is Bad A$$ for sure |

are you pushing 3s voltage to it cause if you are its not going to last

it's hooked up through the receiver, so i don't know what the voltage is. How/why are you supposed to change it?

let us know what your electronics are that way we can help you figure out how much voltage is going to your servo. More than likely your esc is reducing power before it sends it to the receiver but we have no way of knowing. Are you running a bec at all?

that would be most helpful! I'm running the Hitech 7950TH steering servo, MMP 1cell ESC, Novak Ballistic 18.5 Brushless motor, CC BEC, Spectrum dx3e radio/receiver, futuba S9650 dig servo. Got too much $$ invested to be burning stuff up from lack of knowledge! |

Set your CC BEC to 6V and your good to go. Just remeber to remove the red wire from your speec control plug.

how do i set the BEC? Do i use the Clink that i use to hook up the MMP 1cell? Pee is right, no tugging on the red wire with the 1cell. |

I, Also run the 1cell in my losi. Works great! But my 7950 isnt putting out what i think it would... it actually binds up... A lot. My bec is happy and everything... its even set at 6.0v

mine doesn't! I wonder why they advertise the servo with 2s and 3s voltage vs. torque values?

7950 is 2s capable... technically speaking you can set the bec to 8.2 volts but most only go to 7.4. Bump it up and enjoy your new found power over the 6v!

sorry to be a little confused, but are you saying to set the voltage i need to bypass the Rx by using a y-harness and then plug the CCBEC into the computer using the castle link; or, leave it the way it is and hook the BEC up to my computer using the castle link and set the voltage to 7.4V?

No, I was saying if you wanted to give 7.4V (instead of just 6V) to the servo, then you'll likely need/want that. I dont know for sure what maximum voltage that receiver can handle, but I would guess somewhere around 6V. So, if you want to give your servo 7.4V, then you'll need to eliminate the Rx from the system. I have mine setup like this: and it works quite well. No need to pull any wires from the ESC. |

oh, OK, gotcha. I'll have to look into that. So you guys are saying the way i'm running the steering servo, and for that matter the dig servo, with a 3s lipo plugged in is going to burn them up? |

Nope....your ESC will still only provide 6V (or so) to the Rx. So, to give 6V to the dig servo and 7.4V to the steering servo, bypassing the Rx with the BEC is the best method, IMO.

his esc (mmp 1cell) doesnt have an internal bec so he cant just power the 7950 with the ccbec. so you will need to keep it around 6v or another bec for just the servo

This is why I have stayed away from the MM1cell. Turning up the voltage on the 7950 is nice. Cant do 7.4 to the servo and as far as I know you dont want to run that much voltage to your RX. |
