Default (2) 2s = (1) 4s-LiPos's

Ok well i just had another battery take a dump. So now i'm down to two. As of now i'm running 3s on my losi moa, but i want to step up to 4s.

Now i want to get elite packs but can't afford 2-4 batteries at 30 a pop. So i've been looking at the gens ace packs.

Problem is there isn't a small 4s, 1000-1300 mah, so i am thinking just doing a 2 2s.

Wire them up in series, snip the balance taps off and put a 4s tap on them, then tape them up to a single pack. Any problems doing this?

i personally would just leave the stock taps and charge them either separately or in parallel.. but i dont see a problem with your method.

Your way will work just fine. I needed a 1250mA 4S pack but I had two 1250mA 3S packs. I did as you wrote and used the remaining cells as a 2S pack.

why charge separately if i will never have a use for 2s? I have handful of 4s (5 conductors) jst-xh connectors so i'm not worried about getting the taps, or how to hook them up, just leave one black out, then all others go in somewhere.

I understand what you guys mean, i currently do that with two 3s when i feel the need for speed, but i figured i'll never use a 2s so i might as well make it a permanent 4s. I'm just unsure if any complications will occur once its charge time. Mostly about how the charger detects cell voltage.

I see no issues with your first post.
