Cool Lipo Questions!!

I have a scx10 tr dingo and it is mostly stock exept a Spektrum dx3e transmitter and receiver and I am not sure if my truck is lipo ready? Also I am not sure what size lipo to get? And would not like to spend mor than $60?
Any input or advice would be awesome!!!!

I've seen people run 2's lipo without a problem, but I don't think those esc's have a lipo cut off. You might have to pick up a new esc or a low voltage cut off for your rig. Don't know if your charger can charge lipo's or not but you might have to look into that to.

Do you know what ESC you are running? If it is a stock axial esc then take a look at it, if it's an AE-2 then it has a low voltage cutoff for 2S lipo, if it's the AE-1 then there is no cutoff and you will have to use an external cutoff or alarm or buy a new ESC like sdmf7 said. If you already have a lipo compatible charger then check out these websites for good quality inexpensive batteries:

www.hobbypartz.com

If you need a charger I would look at the Thunder AC6 charger from hobbypartz.com

It's a type of failsafe that prevents you from over discharging your lipos.. Running your lipos too low can be a very bad thing!

I ran my rig with the stock ae-1 for about 15 mins with a 2s 2650mah lipo, it glitched very bad, it would be alot smarter just to buy a new esc and easier also. Jus my .02

Lipos don't cause glitches. You've got something else going on. I've run 3s through the ae-1 with no problems at all.
