| Brushed Motors
Hey everyone i have a simple question, what is the biggest battery a brushed motor will hold, i have an axial 27t motor and was wondering if it will hold a 3 cell lipo. It runs a 2 cell Lipo fine. Thanks again as always!

There is really no answer on this. I could probably hook a motor up to 30 volts....it will run.....but go south faster. The biggest thing with voltage on 540 brushed motors is that the more you give it, the more wear you will introduce to the motor. You will need to rebuild more often. You also have the ability to do more damage when you don't let off when you should. Simple answer though, yes your 27t can take 3s.....just be prepared for more often rebuilds. Later EddieO |

Your 27 turn Axial is probably a closed endbell motor(non rebuildable) so when it dies you should upgrade to a rebuildable type 540 motor.

Some of the clod buster 550 motors were rebuildable, just depends which it was.... Easy way to usually tell if a motor is rebuildable is to see if the endbell is held on by bent tabs.....if it is, its a sealed can and not really meant to be opened. Later EddieO |

| The biggest question, what is the max input of your ESC?? That is the biggest limiter to battery cell count/voltage. |

Im running a traxxas velineon xl-3 esc, i really like it but it doesnt have a drag brake. but with a little finger finesse and some driving skills it works out great!
