Default fried hitec 7954

I think I fried my Hitec 7954 servo, only 6 runs on it, cc bec set to 7.4 volts, Servo just quit, when I touched it, it was super hot. I let it cool down and tried again. It only turns to the right now, no left and won't return from the right. Running it on a axial xr 10. How is Hitec's customer service n these cases?

Hitec CS is fantastic...One of the best out there.
I dont think what has happened to your servo would be covered under warranty though.

Not sure what you mean about 'good for 6 packs'.
I've got a 645mg that is over 3 years old has been run in 4 different rigs, lent to mates etc. and its still going strong. Only recently replaced the top case as a mounting ear broke from me over tightening a screw.
Also have a 7955 that is over 2 years old and has been run in 3 rigs. Still going strong as well.

XR10's are REALLY hard on servos, as their steering geometry isnt perfect. (check the XR10 section so see the fixes).

It sounds like it was just bad luck that the servo went pop.

Either way looking into it further you should get it fixed under warranty. (My bad about before, misread the voltage you were running & servo type)

..did you ever get your damaged HS-7954SH replaced by Hitec. If so, what did you include into the package when you sent the the 7954?..

I have 2 on warranty now (7954SH~lack of torque, 5645MG~stripped gears on first run). the 7954sh has an overload protection, that is default off. unless you turn that on, things like this can happen. sounds to me like your out $100, but you can try sending it in. the worst there gonna say is no, and your back to where you are now.

if my hitec's go again, ill be looking into a savox. they have a 1283 thats 400 oz-in at 6 volts, and aluminum case to keep heat down.
