Default Questions on a Tekin ESC

I just got a Tekin Rebel 2 ESC on a trade off of here, I thought I read on Tekin's web sit this ESC has forward/brake/reverse, is the brake not a drag brake or is it? And if it is how do you set it up? I read how to set up forward and reverse but nothing about brake. Thanks for any help, I did a search on here about the rebel 2 and didn't find mutch info.

Did you purchase the Hotwire interface?

http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/tektt1450.htm

This item will allow you to change everything in your settings.

EDIT: no coffee this morning...we are out of filters. I am checking now on the drag brake.

REEDIT: I checked the Tekin forums, and it does not have a drag brake. Sorry mate.

Here is the manual for the Rebel 2. After reading through the manual a little I don't think it has a drag break or can be programmed through the hotwire interface.

I had one...bought it off of here as well. Gave me problems from day one. Finally smoked it running a 3s battery and handwound HH 35t. When it did run, I was not impressed with it. After I let the magic smoke out of the Rebel II, I picked up a BRXL from HH. Holy cow what a difference. I thought I could get into this sport by doing it cheap/used. It's more of a headache than anything. I could have been crawling a lot sooner if I had bought new than if I had bought used.

The Rebel II doesn't have a drag brake. It was used more in the hayday of 100% custom built crawlers, before kits and electronics specifically for crawlers were made. You will be much happier with a Tekin FXR, Holmes BRXL, or another modern built ESC for crawlers .

The Rebel II was a leftover product from the old Tekin, was not designed by us and was also not designed with crawlers in mind.

I suggest you pick up an FXR if you need dragbrake, it is much smaller, programmable and has support, whereas the RII is a discontinued product.
