Question Just A Punk And His Dig With Questions

Okay I have done some searching but cannot quite answer in the fullest of what im after, so here I go.

1)After I solder up my Punk Dig unit, is it okay to plasti-dip the entire unit?

2)I got my unit and the wires that run into the rx have small fraying wires at the solder point, its securely soldered on but if the fray is touching the other wire colors fray can this short anything? Or should I resolder the entire end and get all the fraying wires into the solder ball?

3)Im assuming yall are double side taping the punk unit into the XR10 electronic box? If so I will silicone the box after to wp it.

4)I have my rear motor wires backwards, do I put - from motor to + on the Punk or - to -?
http://www.punkrc.com/files/DigSwitchDiagram.jpg-Or just follow the diagram?
Thanks for all the help guys

You should resolder your fraying wires.... Im not sure you want to plastidip the entire thing in case you ever want to sell it to someone, they may not like the idea of having to go off the wires you soldered. Just my 2- cents

Any idea on the - to + soldering? I have a few to do this, I just burned the FK out of 3 fingers grabbing my soldering iron at the metal neck under the handle....

I was told to reverse one motor's leads but when I did, the axles spun in opposite directions so I went pos to pos and neg to neg front and rear

Why dip it? You comping underwater?

It depends on if your motors have the endbells rotated or not. You could test them with a couple AA batteries to see if they rotate opposite one another or not. If you are using cheap machine wound motors chances are they are the same so you will have to wire them opposite in the back...If you are using some handwounds then they may be already reversed for you.

Yea just tape two of them together and touch them to wires coming off the motor. I am 99.9% sure that you will need to wire the rear motor in backwards since they wouldnt know you need them to spin opposite one another.

Yep I will need to do the rear backwards. I figured I would because when I had my dual fxrs hooked up with my WAS unit I had to do it that way.

And you bring a valuable point, I wont be comping under water or even be in water or mud so that answers that lol. Northern Utah really doesnt have the stride for crawlin as the Southern part does
