Default Wiring BEC, and glitching MM?

HI.. Here's a couple of noob questions..

#1) Hypothetically, if you wired a BEC and mistakenly forgot to pull the red wire from the ESC (only briefly) with 3s lipo, what would happen?

#2 I have the truck all wired up. LNC, stock rx, and a MM ESC with a e-flight BEC (3s lipo). Had to reverse throttle position on radio to recognize full throttle, other wise was able to programm all stops, and manually programm all settins as per the Castle manual. Once programming was complete, the throttle will not stop glitching, and is always jumping from forward to reverse. Any thoughts?

Thanx

Hi..

I just disconnected the BEC, installed the red wire on the MM ESC, and back into the RX. Turned everything on, and still get the same motor glitching.. Steering works fine, but throttle is glitchy.

Any ideas whould be helpful.. Thanx....

I have tried stock Losi 2.4ghz radio with stock rx, as well as a Spektrum 2.4ghz radio and rx.. I have a Mamba Max ESC, and a E-Flite BEC. running a E-Flite 3s lipo.. All this running power to a Titan 21T brushed motor, and also tried the stock 55t LNC motor.. Both radios/rxs, both motors, and with or without BEC produce the same results. All the above is new as well.

Not sure if it's your issue, but maybe swap the motor wires, then set the TX back to "normal" for throttle (NOT reversed) and recalibrate.

Otherwise, try and keep RX wires & antenna away from ESC & battery wires and check again.

Swapped the motor wires around, and just changes rotation of motor. TX is set to normal for throttle.. Still glitching.. Moved rx as far from everything as possible.. Should mention too, radio is a Spektrum DX2..

After the swap, did you recalibrate?
How wide is the "dead band" for the throttle? It may be on the close side.

I understand the newer 2.4ghz is less likely to have interference issues, but it can happen, especially with fast switching ESC's.

How are the motors? If they are due for a service (comm cut, brushes, etc) they can also add electrical noise.

I recalibrated after swaps.. Both motors are brand new.. Dead band is set at normal.. This thing is baffling me..

i have a similar problem, i have stick esc, stock motor, stock rx, and hitec7955tg steering servo, with a 2 cell, if i hook up the bec to the rx i have a glitchy throttle only when i command it to move forward or reverse, hook it back up to factory -normal, then i found on the losi forum hook straight in to the servo, if i do that, of course my thottle is ok, but if i move forward or reverse the steering goes glitchy for a second by itself, then the wheels straighten out, im stuck so i took off the bec, any info, not tring to robb ur post but showing ur not the only one with is problem

are you using the BEC to power servos? if the ground wire is running to the servo, try splicing in an extra wire from the BEC to the receiver. i did this and its cut out a load of glitching i would get in neutral

is the battery completely charged and ballanced?? MM might be engaging the lipo cutoff, Adjust the deadband to 1.5...Is this a old ESC?? mine jerked around and turned out it was the on off switch wires causeing the problem.

e-mail Charles at Castle...very good to work with.

Jusy want to thank everyone for the replies.. Got it figured out.. I have not been able to download Castle Link yet, and it turns out I still had the old firm ware on the ESC (ver 1.xx). It's updated now, and working great thanx to my LHS.
