| HELP.. Motor question
Hi Im new to here and need a little help.. Heres my question.. I have the novak 18.5 3s... It says the motor is reversible. So, I installed my axial tranny in my komodo crawler with the motor towards the front.. (shatft pointing to the back) I can flip it either way though..... Ok now heres what i dont get.. What is the correct forward rotation of the motor? I mean i can put the motor in facing either way and just change my throttle on my radio to reverse and it works either way... So how do i find out which way the motor is suppose to turn, so i can have my throttle on N and the motor turning the right direction? Does this make sense? I can flip the rotation by programming the esc and i can flip the motor in the truck too.. So how do i know what the correct rotation is so i can program it to the way i have it set in the truck??? Please i dont need to read through a bunch of junk comments. Last edited by busterturbo; 05-29-2011 at 12:06 AM. Reason: picture didnt show up |

If you touch the output shaft and it spins counterclockwise (looking down at it), that the normal....so if that would make your truck go forward then go with the that. It really doesn't matter though with it, the motor will spin just as well either way if you have your radio and esc configured correctly. Later EddieO |

Thanks. So counter clockwise is the normal rotation for these motors? because if its set that way and my truck is in reverse then i want to program the esc and reverse it.. not just change it on the remote cause then the trigger is back words..

You can "reverse" a motor by "reversing" the channel on the TX, or swapping 2 wires on the motor itself (there are only 2 wires on a brushed, 3 on a brushless). I would likely reverse motor wires as some ESC's get pissy when calibrating them "reversed". |
