Default 4mm web or 5mm web?

What is the difference between 4mm web and 5mm web when talking about handwound motors?

its the area the copper wire is wound around....

A 4mm web is considered the RPM blank, a 5mm the Torque blank. As you remove steel, you gain RPM and lose torque..........the RPM gained however is greater than the torque loss, so your overall power output goes up...

I wind everything 45t and up on 4mm blanks, they have enough torque as is and they benefit from the extra HP....40t and below is all done on 5mm...I've done special stuff both ways though.......

If you got the question from looking at the motor on HH's site it lists it

* 5mm web 3 slot armature- Maximizes torque and efficiency
* 4mm web 3 slot armature- Maximizes power and RPMs

I got Peter working on a full set of pics of the different blanks like that......as I actually have other sizes......3mm Super RPM and the Trinity 5.5mm Blanks....I think some where I have the Trinity RPM blanks too, which are 4.25mm....
