Default DX3C Binding

I just picked up a DX3C for my shafty crawler, and cannot get it to bind to the reciever. When I follow the included instructions, all I get is a rapidly flashing light on the reciever & no bind to the transmitter.

The instructions state that I am to power up the reciever first, then power on the transmitter, locate the bind feature, turn the steering wheel each way, trigger the throttle both directions, then press the third channel button. after this I am to press the bind on the transmitter.

I have repeated this 10 or 15 times, and nothing. Just getting frustrated, so I thought that I would ask people with much more Spectrum experience than myself.
Both the transmitter and car have fully charged batteries.

Any ideas?

try having your radio ready to bind then power up your rx and when the led on the rx starts flashing click the bind button on your radio.

also try it with the radio 5 to 10 feet away. i have found that sometimes they dont want to bind when the rx and tx are right next to each other

OK, I tried this, it still won't bind, hopefully I don't have to return it fo warranty already, as it has never been used. Not impressed so far with the quality control by Spectrum, you would think that it would have been tested & certified before shipping

I got this radio about a week ago and had no problems binding. Worked first time for me...hope you don't have to send this thing back already.

Have you tried to bind to a different receiver? It could be the Rx...

BTW, that bind procedure is new to Spektrum....I have never had a radio that required that each channel be cycled like that prior to binding. How about if you skip that stuff and simply select bind on the radio....?

Haven't tried a second reciever yet, as I don't have one.
Tried the binding without toggling the controls, that didn't work either.
I removed the bind plug, and turned on the reciever after turning on the transmitter, and it launched itself across my workbench in reverse. The throttle kind of worked as when I triggered the throttle, it would stop running in reverse and run in forward if I pinned the throttle, but it still won't steer.
I think that I'm going to take it into the LHS and see if they can help me

Try reversing both channels (throttle and steering) on your Rx and giving it another go.

I had my transmitter on the bind screen, powered up the receiver with the bind plug in and hit go on the transmitter. Worked first time. I didn't try cycling the channels.

Yea, the manual doesnt say to move each channel both ways...It says to move all channels to the failsafe position before binding. So just leave all of them where they are and hit bind.

Does bind flash on the screen when you hit it?

I finally took it over to a fellow RC'r who is much more knowledgable in Spectrum stuff, & he got it to work properly. He used a reciever pack rather than running the regular pack to power it up, & had no troubles at all. There was a second issue with the ESC that was helping confuse me that he fixed as well. Its all good now. My apologies to Spectrum, as it was my poor grasp of binding the radio coupled with the ESC problem that made this a huge P.I.T.A and not their eqipment. All happy now
