What radio system are you running? Im guessing Traxxas transmitter. Also is it AM? FM? 2.4ghz?

Could possibly be receiver. Try a different one. Or if you put your finger on servo horn and use steering. Do you get a clicking sound? May have a stripped gear inside servo. Try a different servo as well. Same results?

Servo turns all the way and just sticks? Or is it jumping around?

I have even seen some of the Traxxas transmitters have problems when I worked at hobby shop.

I have even tried switching the throttle and steering wires on receiver for troubleshooting purposes. So in turn the steering on transmitter will now be for throttle. And trigger would be for steering. But take pinion gear off motor and unhook steering linkage so it wont take off on you and servo wont bind.

Does it do this when the truck is off the ground too? Could be the internal BEC getting pulled down and causing the radio to spaz.

Did this setup work before or is it new?
Does the rig move when you hit the throttle?
If not, are you SURE you plugged the steering servo into the correct channel?

I am guessing your Radio system is AM? Your old motor should've had small capacitors to lower the radio noise. The new motor that you installed, did they come on the motor or come with it at all? Motor may be producing radio noise and your system may be picking it up. Well what if you hooked up your original motor? Same results with servo?

Does the new motor have capacitors (they may be very small flat ones between a common ground & each battery post on the motor, or they may be bigger "cans" in the same place)?
Is the brushes on the new motor arcing when running?

u post a pic of your old motor end bell and your new one? You should have capacitors on your motors. Small silver looking wires that go to a flat like brownish orageish part. There are many different ones out there im sure. If these are missing on new motor than prolly getting radio noise and making your system act haywire.

hey charlie... what do you mean by arcing? All brushed motors arc accross the brushes and the comm. Unless you are referring to something else?

here is a link that I found. Does your old motor have these on there? http://www.teamnovak.com/tech_info/h...aps/index.html
Does the new motor have them as well?

Arcing....major sparks from the brush/comm interface.

Yes, some arcing is normal for brushed motors, lots is not good & can wreak havoc for radios.

Well that is more than likely your problem. You can get them at your local LHS or take them off your old motor and install on the new one. Since you say your old motor works fine and the new one you are having trouble out of, then by installing the three capacitors like your old motor has will fix your servo glitching problem. Or if it is printed on it, maybe you have a radio shack that is nearby and pick a few up there? They are very cheap.

Well hope this helps
