I'm not sure what the Version update is but I want whatever came out of the box. The shipped tune worked great. It would beep every 10 seconds or so during TX inactivity. This newer one only beeps when turned on, calibrated or when the TX is off.

The control was fantastic.

Although I have calibrated the ESC to the radio many, many times and adjusted the trim before and after calibration I cannot get full throttle without it cutting out.

When it does the both green and red LEDs pulse on the ae-2 and the motor stutters hard.

Here are a few things to try.

1) Make sure the ESC is set to brushed reversing mode.

2) Try reloading the new firmware. I have seen this fix problems.

3) Make sure throttle trim is centered with end points set to 100. Turn off Tx and Rx and reverse direction of throttle. Turn on Rx then Tx. Repeat the step if the throttle is backwards.

4) Send me an email address where I can send you the old Castle Link files that I have to see they have the firmware you need.

Thanks! Email, incoming.

The 2.4ghz Axial radio does not have throttle end points, right?

That is correct. One other thing to check. If your throttle has setting called ABS make sure that it is turned OFF.

you guys are crazy, I run tamiya plugs on all my rigs and LOVE them, would never go any other route..

on topic, maybe you guys can help me also.. not trying to jack this thread but seems a good place to ask.

symptoms.........
I have a CC micro pro w/external cc bec in a mini jeep running a 15t Crawler Mafia motor (brushed), its odd because the only battery I seem to be able to use and get it to GO on is a MaxAmps 100c 2 cell lipo. I have some really good 20 to 40c nano techs and others that work fine in all other rigs.
I run deans. connections are good. so when I put a nano-tech 35-70c 2 cell and gun it and hold ft, it boggs and starts very slow then once it gets up there it starts surging up and down like its trying hard to come up on RPM's (holding full throttle).... when I run the maxamps 100c OR any 3 cell, it ramps right up and is stupid fast. seems to work great.

same batteries on my full size rig, all work the same. no bogging. thats on a 35t HW and AE2 with external CC bec. no issues.

I have had a few minis and micro pros and never had this problem. tried castle link and punch control and every other setting. all is good there.

WtF could it be? I know my stuff pretty well and this has me lost.

am I missing some simple thing here? same batteries that work fine on my axial dont work on my mini.

thanks!

My issue is solved. I reloaded the Castle link software with an older version sent to me from k7zpj. It fixed the stuttering and glitching at WOT.

Thanks for all the help, k7zpj!

too bad Axial/Castle can not be honest and just say:

hey, if your not running a 2/3s 5000MAh lipo batt,
our craptastick ESC just wont work!

If i put my old, but strong 8.4v nimh batts on the ESC,
it coughed up blood.

on the 2S 5000MAh lipo batts, it pisses fire,
and NO start-up/cogging?

The guys that said my nimh batts just could not cut the current draw, well they may have been correct?

never mind what connectors either?
(went from those lovely Tamiya cons to Traxxas
HC cons, but to no avail with this issue)

The axial ESC must just have such a tight amperage threshhold, that even good/hot nimh batts cant
push it over the edge??? (to just start it rolling FCS!)

I got a bunch of these things, but to be honest
I just bought momba max'es because I was plain
worn out trying to chase down the problems?

Turns out, on the bench/no load,
they run OK with the lipos???

Just wanted to say sorry to all the folks that said it
might be my batts.

I didnt want to hear it, or believe it,
because I have so many brand new nimh batts.

Best I can figure, it WAS a "current output" issue,
and the ESC is just far too sensitive to it,
even with the lipo cutoff set to "off/none"

I just wish the BACKDATES were easier to find.
have read that helps a lot of folks also.

But Castle is kind of an asshat about that........

didnt test them all tho, not set up for that right now,
so who knows?

That's great news. I am glad you got it working again.
Just curious, which version of the Castle Link software did you use?
