The short of it- lipo stores energy and you have to respect it. While it may take some abuse to make them catch fire, they still have the energy to let loose at any time. |

I remember Kamikaze posting a homemade video of him doing a lot of the same. Max Amps shunned him right away and people were posting how stupid it was. Now it's funny........?!?

The solvent used is very flammable. Add spark and you get fireball. Normally there is no spark inside a cell, and the cell must start puffing before the solvent starts to off-gas out. What is funny is the first part. "I bet it won't catch fire" and then a huge fire ensues. Sure it is incredibly stupid to try and destroy batteries, but Luke is absolutely aware of the danger and constantly joking about how stupid it is. Every cell he destroyed was already compromised in some way, so he wasn't wasting good cells. He uses good cells for racing! |
