Default Tekin FXR Capacitor?

The capacitor on my tekin FXR just broke and ill need a replacement ASAP. I heard that you can just go down to radio shack and buy one as long as the specs are the same or better. But if that is what i do, do i have to replace the capacitor on the other ESC too being that i have two in my berg.

You want to get caps that are low ESR and rated for 105C. I don't believe they have these at RadioShack. A higher ESR cap rated for 85C is usually what they have, they may work but I always use low ESR and 105C. That's what all the ESC mfgrs use, I wouldnt go with anything spec'd lower. I buy mine on Ebay, search for low ESR cap.

NOTE: I'm used to 1/8 brushless vehicles that are much harder on the ESC, since a crawler is much easier on the ESC the 85C higher ESR caps might be fine, but better to stick with what the ESC mfgr spec'd IMO

I got it in and as soon as I plugged in the battery the copacitor puffed up and smoked. Every thing is fine but I'm still without a capacitor.

For the heck of it I'm searching ebay an I don't see any 16v 105c 360uf.

But is 360uf the minimum (the uf is the amount it can store right?)?

IE, could I get a 105c 16v 470uf ... like these:

Feel free to educate me.

I was reading some stuff today that the UF is fine as long as it's higher or the same. I think I messed up by buying a 35v I thought it just ment I could use a higher voltage battery. Well better luck next time. I think to get the right on i will have to order it.

Sorry to bring back an old thread - caps pop because:
1. they've been subjected to overvoltage
2. cross polarised, i.e. negative polarity on the cap must be negative powered
3. short circuit

A 35v 470uf should be ok if fitted correctly
