| 3500kV in SCX10?
Folks, Have a spare Traxxas Velinion VXL 3s 3500kV BL sensorless motor, never fitted, gathering dust. D0 I flog it off (I'm in Australia so I can get near to purchase for it) or fit it in an SCX10 running 3s and a CC SW S1 ESC? Will it be over powered? So far I have only ever run brushed in any of my crawlers..... What are the 3500's like at crawling speeds for control? |

Will it be over powered? Yes Will it be a heck of a lot of fun? Yes Make sure you have fully upgraded tranny, shafts, and diffs first. Many people use them and love them. Being one of the few brushless motors on the market which is supposed to be waterproof makes it a bonus for using in scalers as well. |

I love mine in my SCX10 and 2 of my buddies have the same set up I do. You need to go down the Gearing pretty good and step up to 32Pitch at 9/56T and it will be decent.

It's a lot of fun on 3s. I had a VXL-3s system in my scx-10 for a short time. Played with FOFF style sandpit bashing with sand paddles.. REALLY hard on the drivetrain. Stock parts will not work for long. Steel outputs and steel tranny gears are a must. Driveshafts held up O.K. with my slipper clutch but still put in the MIPS I had on standby. Low speed crawling it's not very good. Depending on how slow you want to go. Sure it'll crawl, but keep the rpms up a little bit. Start up is where it cogs and studders really bad, but after that the power and torque is endless. |
