| Stock nightcrawler motor trouble
here is the setup real quick... Stock nightcrawler trans stock electronics, losi 55t 2s lipo 16t pinion Ok so basically once my motor/esc have come up to operation temp during a crawl (5 min or so) my motor will lose almost all power/torque. It will run on flat surfaces, but as soon as it hits a steep incline or rock it immediatly loses torque and won't move. Now the first time this happened I did notice a bit of smoke on one of the capacitors so that could be a factor too. The motor has been regularly cleaned and lubed with trinity bearing oil and com lube on the com, and has about 7-10 hours on it. I would like to know your thoughts on what could be wrong with the motor. I'm not really looking to replace it with the same thing or another brushed motor, due to the fact that I have an LCC trans and Tekin RS/17.5t combo waiting to be put on the rig, but I would like to use the motor for other projects if it is fixable. thanks |

Does it do the same thing with a different battery pack? If so, worm drive axles are known to eat brushed motors for breakfast & lunch. Brushless is the way to go for these axles. |
