Default pinion problem

ok, here goes. the pinion that is on the motor on my 4tec, is to large for me to remove the motor with the pinion on, and the set screw is stripped, any ideas on how to remove the pinion without damaging the bulkhead?

Drive the next largest wrench in the set screw , may have to use a standard size. Heat it up with a lighter.
if that dont get it , use a dremel cutoff wheel and cut the set screw , it will ruin the pinion. Like if you were cutting a slot in it for a screwdriver.

Good Luck

Then you may need to use a gear puller, check your hobby shop. If that fails then drill out the set screw.

If you have both metric & imperial wrenches, you can "sometimes" force the wrong one into a rounded setscrew.
If not, use "ZAP" or similar to glue the correct allen wrench into the setscrew to get it moving.

Last resort, use a ~1/16th" LEFT HAND drill bit. While drilling, the heat & vibration may make the screw back out instead of drilling a hole.

TORX bits will sometimes grab enough of a stripped set screw, to remove it.
