Default HH BR-XL issue/Question

I have posted this in the HH section as well but figured I may get some answers here too. I already searched and tried the solution of turning the drag brake down to 50% with the Holmes Hold on. Doesnt matter what I do, truck doesnt seem to want to hold position against gravity at all. Any downward angle and it will roll.

I have a HH BR-XL ESC and I am currently running 16t pinion 87t spur and stock 27t motor. The problem is I want to use the Holmes Hold on my ESC so I purchased the castle link. Programmed it and now it doesnt really hold well against gravity at all. Also makes a horrible motor lurching noise. Any suggestions to what I can do. I tried lowering the Drag Bake % but that didnt seem to help either. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Well, my man , I'm not an expert but I think it's safe to say ya need a new motor. Stock motors don't last long at all, the magnets they use aren't the best (strongest).

Try a HH sport 35t or an Intagy V11, both good for the price! Also I'm pretty sure the "hold" is not recommended for scaling.

Hope this helps and I'm sure others will chime in.

Thanks for the help. I was wondering if this was just a motor issue.... Oh well right. guess its time to upgrade, lol.
As for using the Hold, should I just use the drag brake instead? Thanks for any help.

Motor choices. I was thinking something like a 35t. I like torque but dont want to lose all wheel speed.

35t is a good choice.

I ran the Hhold for a while, and with my brood handwound it was to strong. I took the hold off, and dropped the drag down to 50% and now my scaler will coast slightly when I want it too.

I'd say try a diff motor, and get back to us.
