| Mamba max pro BEC
How many of you guys use the mamba max pro bec and how many still run the bec separate? I see in programming the pro has the option to increase and decrease voltage. |

I believe that most of us use the non-pro CC BEC since it is used mostly with 3 cell lipos. The non-pro uses 2S to 6S and 10A. The Pro can handle more input voltage like 12 cell lipos and 20A. The pro is about three times larger and twice the cost than the non-pro one and both have adjustable voltage, the non-pro goes up from 4.8 to 9 volts. You do need to use the CastleLink to make the adjustments for either one. |

Regardless of which you still need a Castlelink to program them. How many amps does the ESC put out? You would want about 5 amps if you use a 3S and a hungry servo. Last edited by AreCee; 09-05-2011 at 04:19 PM. | |

im 99% sure he mean mmp esc internal bec. with a castle link you can adjust the internal bec voltage from 5v-7v but it still is only a 3A bec. when i was using it in my losi cc i used a ccbec for the steering servo to prevent any problems

The BEC on a MM Pro is known for being a bit weak - If you are running anything like or above a 7955 I;d run an external BEC. It is a switching ESC like a CC BEC so won't heat up though... |

MMP BEC is junk, it couldnt handle the servo in my short course truck...brown outs every 30 or so seconds. Its perfectly adequate for powering your receiver though so I would run your CC BEC direct to the servo and let the MMP BEC power the rx. |

I use an external bec for my steering servo and the internal bec for my receiver and dig servo.

My MMP's BEC got burned out when I installed a Savox SC1258TG in my SC truck. It really is weak and instead of just not working well it tends to cook and ruin the Esc. Running the RX is fine tho as an Rx's typical draw is like .5 amps.

External bec. Had one go up in smoke when using the internal bec.

External bec. The MMP internal bec glitched when my 7980 was under a bind.
