Default Need advice from the battery gurus.

Thinking of building an FOFF rig with some parts I have laying around.

Battery gurus!

What discharge rate should I get for this...

Its a current beast. I puffed a friends Lipo. Granted it was old, but it also used to run just fine in his Tekin RS 5.5 setup.

Thanks in advance.

If Novak's claim of 480 amps current draw is at all accurate, you'd need a 5000 mAh battery capable of roughly 96C, or a 6000 mAh battery of 80C, or a 13,500 mAh battery of 36C.

What're you doing, running two motors in parallel?

What the ESC can draw is fine, what it actually uses is based on the motor, gearing, vehicle weight, surface/ground condition, wiring quality & size, battery capacity & "C" rating.

The best of everything (ESC, wiring, battery) but using a crappy motor means there will be little load required, the motor just won't ask for it.

In general, the motors used in crawling are not high amp motors along with gearing that is set for torque, not so much speed.
