Default motor whistles on full throttle.

I got a honcho and I replaced the motor and esc back to stock (27t, AE-2 esc). The motor makes a whistling sound on full throttle only.(sounds like a turbo..lol). Is this normal?
If it's not, then I'll take out the motor and see what could be wrong.
I just wanted to check here if anyone else had this problem.

Thanks

Check the mesh between the pinion and spur.

I know why it whistles.....it doesn't know the words.....

On to better ideas.....did you lube the bushings/bearings for the armature?
Is the pinion/spur mesh correct?
Do either the pinion or spur gears have chipped/damaged teeth?
Are you sure it's the motor, maybe the trans?

I don't think any teeth is chipped, I just put in this motor last week and haven't really run it till today. I'll double check again.

Thanks

I just did this and it's my motor. This is a new motor, not even a full pack through it.
It work's fine besides the whistle. Does it need cleaning or lube?

I would try lubing the armature shaft support, likely bearings.

These motors have an internal fan built onto the armature. My motor has the same whistle and has gone to he** and back already.

See if the whistle is lessened when you cover the motor can vent holes with your fingers.

Most likely it is this fan causing the whistle.

Yup. Motor is still going as strong as it did the day I got the truck. Granted it has never seen over 2s, it's seen plenty of packs.

My Axial 27T did the same thing in my Honcho too, had a slight whirring/whistling sound, never affected performance to my knowledge. Still works great!
