| Hyperion eos 0606i problem
Short story: Plugged charger in using the battery taps to my truck. May have heard a spark from the output deans against the side of my truck, thought it was a spark from the alligator clip on battery? Plugged battery and balance tap in, charger did its one beep then said output circuit problem. Unplugged battery and alligator clips and retired everything. It beeps, shows the first screen and version of software nothing else works, can't select battery, can't start it, nothing. Brought it home to plug into 110 and same story. Advice? That's why ALWAYS use the rubber plugs to cover the deans connectors!! I learned the hard way as well...fortunately for me the Deans plug touched the glow plug adapter off my squid adapter thing and caused a huge spark and smoke. Charger was fine and so were my lipos which happened to be literally an inch away. *whew* |

Thunder T6 Multi-LiPo Battery Charger (4X 6-Cell) Professional Balance Charger/DisCharger w/ LCD Display its looks to be the same as this Hitec brand one..?... ALL e RC | HITEC X4 4-PORT MULTICHARGER and just for some tech...I called allerc and they told me the dealer you bought your hyperion charger from is who takes care of warranty service....warranty breaks down like this.... 1year free replacement pretty much even if it's your fault. after 1 year they sell you a new charger for 40% off. now that I have the 4 place charger from hobby partz I can see me going back to the hyperion....

You can, or can't see yourself going back to hyperion???? Plus I can't do that one cuz I am too lazy to lug around a power supply. Problem is that I can't remember who I bought the charger from? I know, I know that I should remember, maybe holmes? Plus, if'n I bought it from John I don't wanna bother him with warranty crap anydamnway.

| can't see myself going back...sorry damned phone post take your hyperion charger apart and rob the power supply out of it...it's totally seprate inside the charger just disconnect the 2 wires inside(I guess your still "lugging" a power supply though).....I dont know but for me I always leave my power supply at home and charge on the car/truck battery. anyway good luck...if your charger is less then 1 year I would go for the free replacement if I was you. |

| Re: Hyperion eos 0606i problem
Reviving an old thread here... Suddenly having my problem with my trusty Hyperion EOS 0606i, I've had this guy for about four years. Its acting really weird with my Gens Ace (2S) and Hyperion lipos (3S)(yes, using different balancing boards for each kind of battery). It will start to charge (@ 1C), run for about 30 seconds then tell me there is something wrong with the battery connections. I have tried balancing my packs and it tells me that one cell is over charged, my Lipo checker tells me that all cells are within 0.15v of each other. I haven't tried my NiMHs yet. Because it is happening with all packs I am fairly sure it is the charger. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a quick fix, long fix, a fix at all? Anyone deal with Hyperion for repairs? I am looking at getting a Hitec X4, but I am not quite ready to buy yet (starting a new job and buying a house are higher on my list), but the Hyperion 0606i is a great little track/field charger, fits well into the tool box. Thanks. |

It's possible with a "well used" charger & balance boards that you have a connection issue. The charger may be fine. If you have a "blinky" or meter, you can verify what the pack is vs. what the charger see's. |
