Default Servo wont mount correctly because of motor

I guess a quick run down is in order:
XR10 (stock for the most part)
Hi-Tech 7950
HH 45T TorqueMasters
VP Front Link Mount

I got my servo back today from Hi-Tech but before i put the servo back on i was wondering if anyone else has had to shim their servo so that it clears the motor.

Currently i have some spacers between the servo and servo mounts.

Could it be that the motor is mounted incorrectly or is it something to do with the way that the servo mounts are positioned? Is this common?

If you mount the servo before setting the mesh it will clear.
