Default servo for a cc-01

I am getting ready to start building a Tamiya cc-01 and was wondering what would be a good servo for this application. It will be used for trail bashing, nothing to intense.

Probably a minimum of 250inoz or so. More is better, but closer to/over 300inoz starts needing an external BEC with most ESC's.

It will depend on how big of a tire you want to use.

My trail rig, a SCX10, pushing 1.9 Flat Irons uses a Futaba 9351 that has 192oz/in @ 6V which seems to be more than adequate but having a stronger servo wouldn't hurt.

I installed a Futaba BLS 351 in my CC-01 and that one has 217oz/in @ 6V.

wow...I run a plain-jane 645MG on all three of mine and it's plenty for me. CC's are not especially heavy..the 645 has no issues turning the tires on the trail or rocks unless you add a lot of weight.

Defintely look into the GPM steering kit while you are at it. Improves the steering a ton. Putting a ton of torque through a wobbly plastic linkage is not a good idea.

I had those Futabas sitting around from my 1/8 scale truggy that I sold.

645s are cheap but I have never had any good usage out of the analog Hitec servos. They tend to break often. One 645 I had went into the shop three times to fix and finally I gave up when the components actually fell off the circuit board. Now the Hitec 5645 digital is worth the extra $10 and this one has lasted for four years and still working.

I had a Futaba BLS351 in my 1/8th scale buggy and it was incredible. Stupid me, I sold it.
