Default DX3r - Problem need help

I purchased a used DX3r earlier this summer and used it with my Slash many times. Last week I went to set up a new lcc and had problems that I am having a hard time diagnosing.

I reset the model I was assigning it to. Then used the plug to bind it to the receiver. After it was bound I had problems getting it to recognize reverse in the one set up for my goat 3s. When it finally recognized reverse after the programming was done in a few seconds it is as if the throttle went to full power and the steering servo twitched side to side. I had to unplug battery fast to get it to stop

I went through this multiple times with the Spektrum tech support. They could not identify a problem and said I had to send it in.

I hooked it up to the Slash as well and the same thing happened.

Does anyone have any thoughts on settings I should check. I am debating just buying a DX3c instead of getting this used radio fixed. What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Step-1, bind the TX to the RX (which you did).
Step-2, recalibrate the ESC to the RX.
Step-3, try it out and get back to us.

You could try recalibrating the throttle and steering pot. Consult your manual, it will tell you how to do it.

I'd make sure that all your exponentials and travels are set to zero & 100% respectively then rebind.
I had this issue once and it was because the travel wasn't even.

SMR is correct. After you reset a model you need to calibrate the RADIO (DX3R). Go to the reset screen and use the calibration. Give it full steering lock to lock and full throttle. Once you complete the reset then all should be well. The manual is difficult to understand and the HH techs are useless for this.

I just checked and uou need to go into the Reset Functions and then Parameters which is where you reset the steering and throttle.

Default Problem solved - Thanks everyone -

Problem solved - Thanks for all the great advice. I appreciate it!

SMR 510RR was correct - the problem was in the calibration of the radio. I used the calibrate function found in Reset > Parameters > Calibrate and set steering and throttle and now it works great.

After a bind and esc programming it works fine.

Thanks again - I am glad I did not send it in for service. Now I just have to finish getting the dig servo set up and I'll have my first dig crawler.
