| Cheaper rx for fasst system
I was looking to pick up a couple more rxs i use the 3pmx radio and it would be really nice to have a couple more. I see that hobbyking sells knock offs that ppl say work but they all seem like 7 or 8 channel ones. Wasnt sure if anyone had any luck finding some that work well in a 3 channel rx. Thanks guys

I believe those Orange Rxs are for air use only.

Oh yeah, I see now. That looks different than their previous models. It does say for the 4PK and 4PKS, so it should work. However, there are quite a few details in their description that appear to be wrong.... Give it a shot and let us know how it works! |

Well, I was needing to place an order from HK, so I picked up one of these to test it out and it will work with the 4PK. You just need to change your radio to FASST-C1 mode (as the instructions with the Rx specify). Anyway, I thought I'd post my findings. I plan to order a few more. |

Earlier, I setup this Rx with my 4PK and everything seems to be working perfectly. I snapped a few pics....some while I was folding the two antenna into the Rx (a bit more difficult than just one) and some comparing it to a 4PL Rx. Decased, the board looks like this: The antenna swivel on their posts...so just turn them 180*: Coil them up and insert into the case. Blurry pictures....dammit, the kid must have been playing with the camera again! |

did you coil the antenna inside the futaba rx too? also curious on range... edit: just realized you are using the R2104GF RX. im using a 4PL which came with the same RX. does that mean the FrSky RX will work with the 4PL? Last edited by asian195; 10-28-2011 at 09:52 PM. |

Yeah, like Charlie said, I am sure there is some loss......but none that I have ever noticed.... And no, the FrSky receiver is ONLY for the FASST systems. That receiver is just what I pulled out of the truck in which the FrSky was going. I do not have any Futaba receivers for the 4PK. |

Squatch, I know this test isn't quantative, but I was up here at work and had my XR (with the Rx pictured above installed), so I went out to the parking lot in my building and drove it as far as possible while still being able to control the vehicle. The car got far enough away that I could barely see it and certainly couldn't distinguish details about it's driving. Here are two pics.....I put a red dot above the car so you can see it (sorry that the pics are dark, some of our parking is covered): Last edited by JeremyH; 10-30-2011 at 12:43 PM. |

So assho...I mean Mr. H....whats the verdict? Thumbs up or thumbs down. At $30, they would be a good deal, particularly in a basher that might see some water.

Well, I ordered a few more.... As for water, just like any other Rx, I'd waterproof these things. |
