| Futaba S9157 Servo Repair Thread
Well, After breaking the second main gear in my Futaba S9157 servo, I got an idea to repair it easily. There is a pin to keep the horn from over extending. It's pretty easy to fix one of these, assuming the missing teeth are in the middleish. Just drill a hole exactly 180 degrees on the other side of the gear, a hair smaller than a hex pin, then punch the pin in. Just drill the hole deep enough to punch a pin into. About 2-3mm deep. Cut the excess off, then cut the old brass pin off with a dremmel tool. This may not work for every broken gear, but if you get lucky, and the stripped teeth are in the center of the gear face(when the servo is centered) then you can likely fix it. Hope this is helpful to some of you New pin installed exactly 180* on the other side New pin trimmed, old pin cut off. |

Nice work Chris! I've flipped those gears before but never added a new stop pin...
