A fair few people i know have had success with running the AE2 on 3s. The only thing they have done is add an external BEC (if you do a search in the electronics forum it'll tell you how to do it). Just remember though that it will probably void any warranty as its only 'rated' at 2s input. |

i guess i could always get out my multi meter and plug a battery in to the ae2 and see what the radio leads read then try with a 3 cell hopefully it will read the same im thinkin the motor wont last long but i have another motor i think it just needs a rebuild and brushes

I've ran 4 packs of 5000mah 3s and 5 packs of 1350 3s in parrallel (2700mah together) with and external bec and so far so good. I burnt my 27t after the 3rd run. It still works but its very weak. The esc will handle it.

| I agree, I have run 3s on my AE-2 for many times with no issues. As far as water-resistant.... I dont believe anything is water resistant. Either its water PROOF or nothing. Water is a major enemy to electronics. Doesnt take much to mess up the hole thing.

A few people have gotten away with running them in water though. Last edited by WIDELOAD; 10-22-2011 at 11:13 PM.

AE-2 instructions (no mention of water resistant/proof): http://docs.axialracing.com/instruct...01-ae2-esc.pdf Product page for the esc (again no mention or water resistant/proof): Axial AE-2 Forward/Reverse ESC w/Drag Brake What you linked is peoples experiences, not what Axial specs on the esc. Even if it is RCC you shouldn't take info as absolute gospel. Look at the manufactures specs and realise that you do something like this at your own risk...
