Also, i'm looking for a cause behind cc bec failures, in my rs vs mmp thread i've heard some interesting stories behind esc firmware causing bec failures.

Interesting this is finally coming up main stream, as I had this issue many months ago. Between me, my brother and a friend, we went through 5 or 6 (been so long ago I forget how many) 10 amp castle Bec's while running a tekin RS speed control and redline motor with the newest 212 programming. All of us ended up going back to 208 programming without an issue. So for whatever reason the 212 is causing these to fail. I tried all different combos for wiring the bec's but it didn't matter. I talked with Jim at Tekin and even sent him some labscope voltage waveforms of when the problem occurs but he couldn't duplicate the problem. So everyone went back to 208 and I went with a Mamba Max pro. No problems since for any of us.

I've had at least 10-15 CC BEC's, heck probably more. Never any issues what so ever. Guess I got lucky.

A few months ago they did start adding a bigger Capacitor.

We've had 2 die, not sure if they were part of the "suspected" bad batch earlier this year (spring time??).
Currently have 3 running.

I had one go bad but instead of dying it stopped limiting voltage. Thanks Hitec for fixing another servo. Not sure how long the servo was running on 3s before it died. Dual fxr Berg with 7950 servo.

I've had the same CC bec on my LCC for 2 years and it's still going. It was on an FXR for the first couple of months and a MMP ever since.

Wow never knew this was an issue...I have 3 CC BEC's...2 of the older ones and one new one with the larger cap.

None have given me any issues. **knocking on wood now too** They are all wired the same none of them directly to the servo...just straight to the deans plug off the ESC and the red wire removed from the ESC input.

On the new setup I have this is the first time I'm running 7.4V off the bec.

Wraith:
BRXL - Hitec 7950TH - CC BEC (7.4V) - 27T brushed Tamiya silver can

Hope I have no issues...

I've had four CCBECs fail. Two failed during comps, one during a long day of bashing, one when just powering up. They were on three different rigs. Two failures were when running at 3S, two failures when running 4S. All were when run with a Mamba Max. Sorry, it's been a few years, I have no idea what firmware they were running.
