| Servo stopped turning right?
I have an RS10 and bought a new front servo from ZNO a few weeks ago. Its been working fine until today. I dont know if its been thrown out of wack or what but it turns one direction fine but doesnt turn the other way at all. Even using the trim on the controller to make it turn right does nothing. Any suggestions? |

You likely broke some teeth in the geartrain so they disengage when turning right. Open it up and carefully check all the gears. |

Wonder if the servo arm splines stripped, so the arm slipped one direction. Try pulling the arm off, power up the rig and center the Pot, then put the arm back on with the wheels straight. What make and model of servo is it? If you stick with mainstream brands and models, they have replacement gears. |

Its a Mayhem HighTorque. I know the servo arm splines are good. Ill open it up and see whats going on inside there. FIY, Im running the stock rear servo and the Mayhem on the front. Would that mess anything up? |

Took the cover off Looked at the gears All looks good I spun the arm gear with my fingers to watch the gears work and all looked ok. Now after putting my hands on everything and reassembling it all; the servo is working fine. My only guess is that one of the small gears inside slipped off track and was binding out. Anyways, thanks for the input fellas |

I have a feeling that half of the servo amplifier's output may have failed. This could be the reason that it will only turn in one direction. If you still have it apart, pull some of the gears off so that you can see the motor output gear. Power up the servo and see if you can make the servo change direction using your transmitter. If it only spins one way, part of the output could be blown. Another thing I have seen with servo motors is that the brushes inside the servo get messed up and will only let it spin one way. If you are still feeling like trouble shooting, hang a volt meter across the motor terminals and see if you see the voltage swing both ways when you send the servo signals you can suspect the motor. |
